I got my T43 yesterday and everything on it seems to be working great. It had Win7 installed, so I booted it up to get hardware data. Come to find out it didn't have the ATI chipset as the seller said, but has the Intel chipset. I got it for $40, and since it'll just be running the BBS, I am not too worried about it. So I kept it. I first tried to install eCS 1.2MR, and was getting trap errors on the first reboot during the install. So I got my OS/2 4.52 CDs out and tried it and had the same issue. TRAP errors on the first reboot during installation. After multiple attempts and REM device drivers, I figured out it was the APM drivers. After I figured that out I re-installed eCS1.2, then I tried to get the latest Firefox running. That turned into a nightmare of missing packages, missing dlls, blah bleh... I doubt I'll be doing much surfing on the machine so I decided to not spend any more time on it, but I knew I had junk spread out all over the drive, so I reinstalled fresh again. Some config.sys tweaking and copies from backup. It's ready to take over the BBS. But I am leaving town this weekend, so I'll wait till next week and transfer files one evening, then shut down the VM and run it on the 43. I might pickup another T43 to experiment with getting SSDs running on them. Or maybe just go back to a T42 since those seem to like PATA SSDs better. Kev ... What is mind? No matter! What is matter?
