My setup is the bare minimum I'd recommend for VAPHP. It's running on 500mhz PC's and the web server and BBS are on seperate computer so it has to access the databases through the network. The guys who are using modern computers and running the web server on the BBS computer have pretty fast response times. It's nothing compared to what a SQL server would do though.
