I tried reading messages through VADV-PHP & it was just way too slow. I need
to get off my butt & start working on new PHP projects. I'm tempted to work
on something that would pull messages out of VADV & sync them with a MySQL (or
other modern) database, rather than hooking PHP into the VADV databases. It
would also allow running the web interface on a separate system from the BBS.

The piece of that I'm most worried about is the software that would have to
run on the BBS system to pull from the VADV databases. I'm not thrilled
about going back to something like Visual Basic 6, but I don't know how many
people would (or can) run software on their BBS computer that requires .NET
run-times.
