Recently I woke up and I was in the process of falling out of the bed and I
was lucky that as a reflex action I caught the nightstand and it kept me from
falling all the way out, because my head would have hit the nightstand's
corner. There was no conscious thought involved, I just remember waking up
and making a loud involuntary gasp and catching myself somehow, I am amazed
that I was able to do it, because my hand was already where it would grab the
nightstand and I was already in the process of gasping when I woke up, it
seemed like it might have been either the fall or the gasp that woke me up,
it must have been the fall though, I can't think of any other explanation.
