The Coming of Spring The sun is starting to feel warm, Snow beginning to slowly melt away. Frozen ground turns muddy and soft, There seems to be more time in the day. Hear the birds singing a bit more now, Buds on the trees starting to show,. Dead grass looking to turn green, Ice is melting, I see the river flow. The heavy coats have become jackets, Most of the gloves put away for the year. Boys are waiting for baseball cards to come out, The baseball season will soon draw near. The girls are laughing and skipping rope, Playing hopscotch, telling what boys they like. Sleds and ice skates are neatly tucked away, Out comes the wagons, scooters, and a bike. See people walking in the park holding hands, Looks like there is again love in the air. Sweet nothings whispered in each other's ear, They sure seem to make a pretty good pair. The lawnmowers and fishing tackle will be out, Spring cleaning will soon be in full swing. Clothes will be out and hung on the line, Outdoor BBQs and the holiday fling. Boats out on the water, people on picnics, The soon to be busy campgrounds and parks. Can't hardly wait myself for it to begin, Happy go lucky feeling that spring sparks. Copyright (c) Terry A.
