Not sure if VBBS is what I will stay with, but I > set my hard drive as a FAT rather than a HPFS style, I read that > AdeptXBBS won't run on a FAT drive? True...current releases of Adept only run on HPFS due to the program structure and the fact that it uses long filenames and directory names. > How is it other than that? Well...I AM a little biased. I am very satisfied with the product and I was not at all happy with the lack of Fido support in VBBS. Sure they have the DOS version of VFido running pretty good but Neil Marshall got into a spat with Roland and the OS/2 version ceased being upgraded and the latest version was very, very slow and buggy. > I am new at OS/2 so as of now on my "Test OS/2 BBS" I have no door working. > If I ever get it tweeked I might move over full time. To get the doors running you need to get a copy of Ray Gwinn's SIO comm drivers. Much better comm drivers than the native ones that come with OS/2. I run a two line system here with a 486SLC/66 and 16Mb RAM with about 1 gig of HD space and 20-30 online games. Most of the games run fine except a couple of them are real cycle pigs and slow the system down a little bit. Normal usage is great though.
