If so, can they > be executed from a DOS session? I'm using OS/2 Warp. There is a DOS program called CyberSpace. This can be ran as a door. It will allow a user to access another modem to dial out. There are a few BBSs in my area which use it. I can call a BBS here in frankfort, which has area calling, then call a BBS in Shelbyville locally, then use his Cyberspace to call Louisville locally, then from there use Cyberspace and call Southern Indiana locally, then another BBS further north in Indiana. All calls are local. Doesn't cost anyone any LD. And you cannot notice any "lag" from all the connections. As far as shutting down the other node. You would not actually have to do this. If there was no one on the other node, when the modem was in use, it would obviously ring busy, therefore if the node was running in the background, it would not be effected because no calls would be getting through to it anyway. Or at least that is the way it seems to me. Eric |
