I've posted this problem someplace before and promptly got ignored or
something like that. Maybe I'll have better luck here.

Anyway, I like OS/2 as an operating system but unless I can use mission-
critical software, it's as good as useless. These three are WordPerfect 6.0a,
ProComm 2.0Win and InterNet In A Box. All of these at first seemed to have
the identical problem. InterNet In A Box can be fixed by simply installing
the InterNet software in the bonus pack. And I fixed the WordPerfect 6.0a
problem by simply reinstalling it.

WordPerfect was displaying the message "SHWIN20.DLL not found". After
reinstalling it, WordPerfect told me to use the following settings:

WIN_RUN_MODE      = 3.1 Enhanced Compatability
WIN_DDE           = ON
WIN_CLIPBOARD     = ON
DOS_FILES         = 100
DOS_HIGH          = ON
DPMI_DOS_API      = ENABLED
DPMI_MEMORY_LIMIT = 128
EMS_MEMORY_LIMIT  = 0
IDLE_SECONDS      = 5
IDLE_SENSITIVITY  = 95
XMS_MEMORY_LIMIT  = 6144

Changing to these settings made it work. WordPerfect also recommended
getting the OS2WPS Integration Tools Disk from WordPerfect (800-321-4566)
to speed things up. But I'll try that this coming week.

So now to my REAL problem: ProComm 2.0Win. I get the message "DSTASK.386
not found". Sounds kinda like my WordPerfect problem, right? So I tried
the settings trick: no improvement. I tried reinstalling: still nothing.
I run ProComm with the error and get garbage on connecting to the BBS.
My understanding is that DSTASK.386 enables ProComm to be used as both
a FAX and BBS type software. I need both to run on the same COM port
at the same time.

Oh, by the way, there was also a message that said to include the line

device=dstask.386

in the [386Enh] section of SYSTEM.INI. It's there! I'm at wits end.
Unless I get a solution, OS/2 Warp is for sale.

Does anyone know how to fix this or a workaround? I considered the stuff
in the bonus pack but unless both the FAX and HyperAccess can access the
same port at the same time, it's useless. I need to be able to write
complex scripts if I decide on HyperAccess. So this is another considera-
tion. ProComm 2.0Win is necessary because of its powerful scripting language
(Aspect) which I am using for research.

Thanks in advance.

Andy
