Basically, Try and keep in mind there is a Human Being on > the end of that phone that gets little to no sleep, lives on Mountain > Dew/Caffiene, works 10 hour shifts to make sure there is someone answering at AMEN to THAT! I used to work for Origin's tech support line, and spent most of my time helping hapless parents get games running for their kids. It's fun...when you can fix it. But you have to understand, the tech WANTS to fix your problem. He's a junkie...it's his high. Otherwise, he wouldn't do the job for so little pay. So you've got to work with the tech. Give him whatever info he asks for, do EXACTLY what he says and NOTHING ELSE, and the odds are really good that you'll both end up satisfied. As for Win95, don't get me started. I took so many calls that, by rights, should have gone to Microsoft. It's a mish-mash, and appears to be deliberately designed to make running DOS games as difficult as possible. And that skinny little manual makes good tender for the fireplace, but is not really useful for anything else. I wish they had just bit the bullet and redesigned Windows NT to be a home OS, now there is the only OS ever made by Microsoft that was actually worth using. Badman |
