You're probably right....but I have since fixed my modem connect speed
problem...It was (I *think*) conflicting with another program that
initialized on startup.....so now I manually start the program (a telephony
program) whenever I'm not using the modem......wierd.....autostart....low
connect speed.....manual start.....high connects......oh well....

thanx for your tip, as I'm gonna check it out...
