 Please pay closer attention to whether you are using COMM apps, or just
prgms like Editors (God I hope it isn't games, cause I got this thing about
helping people run GAMES).

I would imagine its a COMM prgm, or a poorly written older APP that would
cause this. Also, you really don't want to use any EMS. Any decently written
apps use XMS. That's why most GAMES cause errors. EMS is far less stable and
normally is used for it's ease, and not for any other reason I can think of.
Adding NOEMS to your CONFIG.SYS EMM386.EXE line can be of great benefit.

 Also, if you are tight on Memory and have a color monitor you can safely use
this command line for EMM386 (This will NOT work if you like to run games):

C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS i=e000-efff

This will usually add 50-60k to available mem for you. This uses the addresses
normally reserved for Monochrome Monitors.
