It's probably not the PIF. Leaving the pif settings at default will almost work. Just increase the priorities a little. I found that the most important setting is your Minimum Timeslice setting under 386 Enhanced. You need to set it to a value that works well for your setup (and everyone's setup is different). The higher the number, the faster everything will run, but the choppier it will be. The lower the number, the slower it will run, but it will be a lot smoother. It's a simple tradeoff. Try extremes (1, or 100) to see how it affects the BBS, then try some different settings to see what you like. (I found that somewhere around 5 or 6 worked well on my 486DX-33). A big Disk Cache will really help you as well. Also, lower the Background Priority of Windows (under 386 Enhanced) to 1.
