Hi all you '95 guru's out there. Can anyone solve the problem of slow receive
rates when running dos comms (BBS) in background using win95, transmit rates
are fine in background, I have have tried pretty well all the documented
suggestions but can't resolve this problem. The machine is DX4100 (intel) PCI
motherboard, PCI Graphics card, SCSI CD-ROM (Nakamichi MBR-7) No system
conflicts, no weird system crashes. Normal throughput in forground for
28800/ARQ connects GSZ Zmodem (dated 2-2-94) reports recieve and transmit 3343
approx for zipped files, but in background at the same connect speed
throughput on receive is only 1325 approx and transmit is 3343 approx. Fixed
speed to modem is 115200, Hardware handshaking is enabled. Help! I like
win95, it has a lot of useful features but if I can't resolve this problem
it'll have to go. I've tried calling microsoft but they want to charge me for
tech support for comms or networking. (probably 'cause they have a lot of
problems in these areas) Maybe a replacment comm driver would do the trick
but I havn't seen one yet for '95. Any help or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.
Alan
