What I _AM_ saying however, is that the key issue is whether or not the copyright holder cares... I mean, you can do whatever you want with _ANYTHING_, if the copyright holder says it's okay. That's the thing though, by not asking the copyright holder for permission, you're risking a chance that you're breaking the law (especially if the copyright holder previously said for you not to). If you ask for permission, there's nothing wrong... And technically, taping off of TV is still illegal, unless you have permission from the copyright holder of the movie or show that you are taping. Like I said, most companies don't care if you make copies of their TV shows for your own, personal use...
