-- Regarding: Royalties??? -- -- Reply Not Requested, Don't Bother -- ------------- Here are your words ------------- I think piracy is a bullshit coverup to make for a 1000% markup... I mean how much did it take to make the copies of Visual Basic, say 1 dollar a copy to the author (that's of course just a VERY rough estimiate), 2 bux for the disks, and maybe 2 cents of power to copy the files onto the disks... Well lets see that comes to $3.02 and we are charged $400 for it... Now unless my calculator is broken, that $3.02 has been multiplied almost 150 times to get to that $400... Buisness is buisness, but lets talk about extremes.. ------------- This is my response ------------- You forgot about the manuals. And the possibly hundreds of programs, spending 1000's of hours, writing and testing it. Not to mention tech support, marketing, distribution costs(UPS and FedEx), retail markups, packaging materials, etc. |
