Re: Royalties??? \\in your words... \\ High prices are due mostly to software pirating! The rest of the fee is required to pay programmers and other employees for all the time they got paid for the development of the product. If you want lower software prices in general, then you should help fight software piracy. \\...and now in mine..\\ Sorry, you are mistaken in attributing the price to piracy. The amount of actual pirated software that is released is no where near enough to justify such insanity. If anything, and I know a lot of you will blow a gasket over this one, the groups that are releasing do more good than bad in the long run and the larger software companies will agree (though not publicly) Where do you think these releases come from?? Contrary to popular belief, the majority of pirated software is not cracked by some twisted little genius in his bedroom with softice, the stuff is leaked to the pirates or sold to one of the release groups prior to public release. Yes, I know, you're thinking Im out of my mind -- I know this to be fact. period. The downside of piracy in general is when a release is put out by rank amatures that either hacked something to pieces or jumped the gun with a buggy beta. That is one of the reasons the software co's leak pre- releases out in the first place. They'd much rather have thier product quality intact than their reputations damaged by poorly cracked copies. \\( nevarre demonian )\\ d i a b 0 l i c a DM!/F |
