  And the answer is simple.  Twice as far as you expect them to go.  If you
expect them to have to disassemble your program to find out how to get around
it, they'll do that, and also create their own registration checking routines
which they can link into the program, to bypass it completely....

  You'll NEVER stop piracy.  All you can do is make it as difficult as
possible for most people to do...
