G#@> Have you written any VBBS utils in C? Yup. Quite a few, in fact. I never got the source to VBBS, so I did things in the language which made the most sense... C. G#@>I'm tellin ya..it's not pretty...I know...one reason is that C and G#@>QuickBASIC have totally different strings...you have to convert them back G#@>and forth before you can read and use, or write back information from G#@>disk...I'm also finding it extremely hard to read the USERFILE.DAT with C G#@>or C++. Anyone else managed to do this, and is anyone else a C developer G#@>for VBBS? The only other one I've seen was Headache, so anyone else? You can buy a license for the source for VUserIO, which was developed in Turbo C/C++ 3.0, from me for a nominal fee. I won't lie to you, there are bugs, and I'm trying to get out of supporting it... but the basic logic is firm and might well be useful to you in learning how to deal with USERFILE.DAT in C. I'll license it to you with some fairly reasonable terms for $100, or sell you lock, stock, and barrel the whole mess for $350. E-mail me for details. Bidding may change the rates at any time. -NR --- OLX 2.1 TD Press any key to continue or any other key to quit |
