Re: Re: [VirtualNET open?]... > What does VQUOT do, BTW? VQUOT Message Quoter 7.03 ========================= Copyright Neil J Marshall 21st October 1991 - 25th June 1995 TransAtlanticBBS @440 VirtualNet 2:440/211 FidoNet +44-1689-812646 Introduction ============ This program will extract all messages from a specified Area that contain certain key words and write them to a text file. It can optionally strip Heart Colour in the process. Operation ========= Place the VQUOT.EXE program in your Main VBBS directory. Run: VQUOT {Database File} {Search Text} NETWORKID=# {Database File} is the name of the database file to search, excluding the extension. {Search Text} is the list of words to be searched for. The program will search the Title, From Name and To Name of each message in the Database and copy any messages found into the VQUOT.TXT file in the main VBBS directory. The program has three other command line options: /BODYTEXT Forces the program to scan the body text of the message as well /NOANSI Forces the program to strip all Heart Colour ANSI from the resulting output file /APPEND Forces the program to append the quotes found to the end of any existing VQUOT.TXT file instead of creating a new one The output will be written to a file VQUOT.TXT in the main VBBS directory. Release Notes ============= 7.03 Introduced a new set of my own common VBBS access routines to replace those from Roland's VBBS Toolkit, solving the problem of programs hanging under Windows or EMM386 due to the Toolkit sporadically failing to reclaim or release vectors correctly 7.01 Upgraded to use VBBS 7.00 structures whilst remaining compatible with existing VBBS 6.14a structures 7.01 Added an improved /MONO command line option to force the program to run in Black and White for those of you who are colour blind, or are using a Screen Reader, or who just hate my taste in colours 7.01 Removed the routine that sends a Daily Report to the SysOp the day after the program is run, and replaced it with a Report that is sent to the SysOp as soon as the program is run 7.01 Introduced a new mechanism for drawing your attention to the Release Notes before you start running a new release of a Utility, in case there are any important steps you must take when installing the new release 7.01 By popular demand, new Registration Routines that do not alter any VBBS system structures and do not leave obscure hidden files on your Hard Disk 7.01 The new Registration Routines no longer require you to stop using 6.xx.xx releases of other Marshall Utilities 7.01 The new Registration Routines are not compatible with the Routines with the Routines used by the first releases (7.00.00 and 7.00.01) of the 7.00.xx family of Marshall Utilities. You will not be able to run these side by side with a 7.01 or later Marshall Utility 7.01 Changed the naming convention for the distribution archives so that they carry a proper .ZIP extension that VBBS can recognise as a ZIP file and that can therefore be viewed on-line 7.00.02 Added a /APPEND option which adds the quoted text to the existing VQUOT.TXT file to allow quoting from multiple Message Areas 7.00.02 The header information of each message now lists the Area the message is quoted from, as well as the From, To, Date and Subject of the message 7.00.01 Initial Release TransAtlanticBBS {Harpoon Scenario Warehouse} Orpington, Kent, United Kingdom VirtualNET AreaList Co-ordinator & International Region Co-ordinator VBBS 7.00 VirtualNET @440 FIDOnet 2:440/211 Mercury 240:100/111 +44-1689-812646 |
