I only quoted this part of your message.  VA does appear to be heading in
that direction.  Roland recent mentioned in a mail that he plans to bring in
telneting into the picture in the near future.  I think that alone answer ost
of your question.

As for the rest?  I do think that there may be other ways of getting these
same things under VA/VISK and maybe a nice ActiveX that supports a DOS
Terminal Window with ANSI emulation.  ;-)
