Subscribers, and fellow sysops,

     I've asked for a volunteer from the other RCs to take over the host
responsibilities of this sub, VBBS/VA Discussion.  Tom Torbeck, RC2/RC8 has
offered, and I've transferred to him a copy of the subscriber list.  As soon
as Gene Wells publishes the change in the Arealist file, the changeover will
be complete.

     I appreciate all the support I got over the last year or two (?), and I
do want you to know (and I hope you always understood) that everything I said
and did was to represent the sysops of this network to the other
"administration."  I'm sure you'll get an equal share of representation from
Tom Torbeck.

     I've asked to give up the sub because I no longer feel capable of
impartially representing your views in this sub.  I don't know how you all
feel about VA, but I regret upgrading past 6.10.  I see the direction VA is
taking the net, and frankly, I don't want any internet crap on my board.  I
run a one line board, and I'll take it down before I'll make it part of the
internet.  If the demise of the home-hobby bbs is looming, then so be it, but
I won't hasten that by buying into someone elses grand plan at my expense.

     I'm not quitting the network (yet), but I won't be party to selling you
on something I don't believe in.  If this message results in the loss of my
"job" as RC, then for that too I applaud your previous support.  We'll see,
huh?
