If you are on port 23, then you are getting hit by automated port sniffers.
They are looking for weaknesses.  Look at the IP addresses of the offenders
and determine what country they are from. You can nuke a lot of them by
blocking the countries in VADV32.  Since I have a web server on the same PC
as my bbs for VADVPHP,  I've found that malwarebytes blocks the incoming
sniffers to the http site.  I am very delighted with Malwarebytes as it
doesn't slow anything down and compliments VADV32.  You could also consider
changing your port # as telnet port 23 seems to be the happy hunting ground
for the hackers now.
