Hello Candy, Tuesday July 25 2023 19:40, you wrote to All: CC> hi! i just recently joined bbs, and im slightly confused CC> is micronet/fsxnet/fidonet/etc boards that multiple bbs's have access CC> to? Micronet is a mail network that allows for distributed mail. Basically, my BBS is the main connection. I have hubs, or other BBSes that connect directly to me, that my system passes mail to and from with. Each hub has several systems (nodes) that connect to a hub to get mail. The exact terminology for this type of networking is "store and forward". If you see a /1 in a BBS's address, it means they're a hub. This type of network is also called a "FTN" (for Fidonet Technology Network for Fidonet, the original mail network that pioneered this network topology). It's 40+ year old technology and is rather esoteric these days but we try to keep it alive. -- Sean ... Drop your carrier!
