i saw this on youtube and i gave it a try. it's the cheapest way to make an
expensive-level filter.   get a new box fan and then get a 20x20 furnance
filter. get a merv 13 filter or better.   you put it on the BACK, not the front.

and you let it run all the time.
there's a video that says to use a 20x20x2 because there's less air resistance.
i have  a x1 and it blocks a lot the airflow through, but it DOES get hair and
dust and dirt quite well.

some guys made a cube version which looks ridiculious.

this college guy took credit for the idea and named it the corsi-rosenthal box.
people have been doing stuff like this for years, though.

make sure you have the arrows pointing the right way and buy the filters in
packs or they will get expensive.  you can probably vac a filter out one time
when it gets full.
