He couldn't prove otherwise. SD> SD> I'd sit in class, bored as I already knew this stuff, and would work on SD> the BBS and chat on IRC using irssi. That experience reminded me of a similar situation I had back when I was 18 years old. I graduated from HS, went into a summer tech program that also did job placement and was employed before the end of the calendar year. I started working professionally in IT at age 18, but felt I had to at least experience a few college classes since my work offered to pay for them. Two classes I took. One was 'C' programming and the other was one you had to take if you wanted a degree, which was some type of health class. Both classes made me discover I wasn't missing anything by not going to college and I hated both of them. The 'C' class lowered my grade because I used logic routines they had not covered in class. It wasn't by problem that I already knew this stuff and was taking it just for the credit. Total BS. The health class assigned me to do a report on alcoholism which I was sitting in class drinking a rum and coke. The two experiences confirmed that college was not for me. I never looked back and did just fine. - Mark --- WWIVToss v.1.52 * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (618:100/12.0) |
