I personally don't know of anyone who has been scared into morality by their
religion/god.  Doesn't mean it doesn't happen, but still, in the end, they
have morals, whereas before they didn't, and the means are just one route to
the ends.  The problem with attaining morality in this manner is that it is
too easy to gain a false sense of security, become too complacent, and
gradually ease back into immorality, wearing the blinders of your relgion all
the while.

Can't really do that.  The word is connotative in nature and doesn't do well
denotatively.
