Re: Renaming files with a date in bat file > How do I rename a file to something like todays date, 06272007.log inside a > batch file? I wish to archive my bbs logs into the file area with vupload. > I have a utility I use here called VBACKUP.EXE which backsup the cfg, dat and log files. The filename it produces is the date of the backup. I don't think I ever released this to the public, but you can grab it off the ftp server at ftp://ftp.at2k.org/upload/vbackup.exe This is a 16-bit DOS utility. Use at your own risk. The command line to run it is: vbackup.exe [path to put file] I'd run it at 11:59 each night (before midnight so the logs and everything are still intact). Make whatever directory you choose accessible in the file area. Then I'd use VFileSyn to upload it rather than VUpload.
