Sounds to me like you are running a NJM util that pedates
Rolands changeing the FDX dir at an attempt to save space or(fuck up Neils
programs).
I ended up running vconfig from a batch file.
but this is a cludge from wen I ran njm's vfido but
varea also changes the fdx dir.

Now adays I just go to vconfig after i run varea and
redefine the fdx dir.
