I don't buy that. I don't think VirtualNET is any different than any other
"type 1" network. After going through the source code for VBBS 7 I don't see
any references to any specific values for the admin of VirtualNET, of course
it could be well hidden. I think the biggest obstacle is reg'd copies of
VADV/VBBS. It's too bad someone couldn't come up with a generic "prod3.id"
and "prod5.id". Back in my younger, more rebellious years I would have been
able to crack it myself, but I am soooo out of practice I wouldn't know where
to start. I have, however, done some checking and it appears that the
"prodx.id" files might not just be a key but a subroutine. I don't know  for
sure. I do know that the last several bytes have the serial number and sysops
name, but it matters not what you do with that information. YOu can changes it
 to what ever you want and it does not change how it displays. The key tells t
he sofware, who its registered to , how many nodes and the  serial number.

How do others deal with "abandonware"? Has anyone any experience with this?
