Sure you can, because we all see things differently, yet they do not change.
A block of wood may feel smooth to my fingers, but feel rough to my
neighbor's.  Now this doesn't seem to tell me that reality changed, because
the block of wood is the same as it ever was.  It didn't change for my
fingers, nor did it change for his.  However, based upon our experiences, and
our perceptional filters, it felt smooth to me and rough to him.
