Re: Reality... > > But can you see that pain and pleasure is the same? > Pain is what you get from a bad choice relating to survival. Pleasure is what > you get when you make a good choice relating to survival. General, yes; and > generally true. Pain and pleasure are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Not true friends. Pain & pleasure are simply viewpoints in relationship to the individual & their GOAL(s). From a PHYSICAL standpoint, pain & pleasure are INTERPRETATIONS of "PRESSURE". For instance in sexuality, B & D - S & M people PERCEIVE "INTENSE PRESSURE" as pleasurable. One can also TRAIN one's body to have increasing amouts of PRESSURE as, at least NOT painful and possible as pleasureable. Also LOVE(ing) can be PAINFUL. My wife is a quadraplegic suffering from many problems. I perceive PAIN everytime I light her a cigarette & she smokes it. I have pain every time I have to give her an injection. I FEEL her nausea when she does. If I didn't love her I would NOT BE attune to these sensations. DAve B. |
