How to run radius with vadv: 1: obtain radius or argus and unpack to a directory you have created for it. http://www.ritlabs.com/argus/ 2: run radius from your radius directory pull down the config columb and choose paths. set the paths to reflect the directory you created. the outbound dir can be anything as vfido does not use it. the unsecure and secure inbound should point to your vfido fido inbound directorys g:\\vadv\\fido\\in0 g:\\vadv\\fido\\in1. the diference in the two inbound dirs are that a connection that has a session password setup will be placed in the securein dir. someone crash mailing your system (uknown) will put the netmail in the unsecure inbound. also running \"vfido /r\" will unpack the fido\\in0 dir. and running \"vfido 1 /r\" will unpack the fido\\in1 dir. 3: choose config nodelist. this is not required but is very handy. enter the path to your nodelist g:\\vadv\\fido\\nodelist.%%% if you have more than one nodelist then press alt+insert to create a new line. then enter the second nodelist g:\\vadv\\fido\\acnetlst.%%% 4: choose config tcp/ip daemon the general tab is where you set up the daemon\'s port settings each protocol can listen on more than one port just seperate the port numbers by a space example Telnet \"3141 8010 60177\" binkp \"24554 60171\" ifcico \"60179\" the Station tab is were you setup your systems info in the address line you will want to enter your fido address and any other ftn addresses like \"1:132/500.0@fidonet 63:63/1.0@acnet\" the \".0@fidonet\" is needed for a connection with someone running binkd.exe as a mailer.(fussy software). the ip line can be your domain name if not a static ip. the flags can be any of the nodelist flags you support CM=24/7 IBN=binkp ITN:3141=Telnet port 3141 the nodes tab is where you would enter your feeds connect info for here it would be node=1:132/500 overrides=\"vtdl.net\",IBN,CM. that tells radius to use vtdl.net as the addy for 1:132/500 and to use binkp 24/7. 5: next is config fileboxes in the options tab enter the path to your g:\\vadv\\fido\\out directory. in the nodes tab enter your feeds address node= \"1:132/500\" status= d = (direct radius will poll if outbound mail exists) n = (normal mail will sit in the dir till you manualy poll or are polled) path= (the dir as setup by vfido in vconfig network fidonet diallist storage directory) so the whole line might look like \"1:132/500 N 00001\" in there own respective boxes as above alt+insert adds a new line ctrl+del deletes a line. 6: config externals postproccessers tab I have entered mask list= %arcmail% string to execute= g:\\vadv\\vfido 1 /r. this runs vfido when i recieve arcmail the cron tab is where you can have radius run a program much like the windows task scheduler does. the flags tab is handy if you want to run a program if a flg exists in the flags dir example flag= runfid1.now program to run= g:\\vadv\\vfido 1 /r if you created that flag file radius would execute the program and del the flag also if you create an \"exit.now\" flag file radius will exit and close.
