so this program uses pkzip 2.5 and it's hardcoded?
i'm surprised.  furthermore there's 2 different syntaxes for 2 different
pkzip2.x's.

you can actually upgrade 2.4x to 2.5 and use the same syntax.
you can also use a version that uses the new syntax that pkzip console uses.
