Several years ago I had a problem with the date.timezone function, and it was
solved here, but after several days of searching, I STILL cannot find the
answer.

Here goes. I'm getting this message:

Warning: date(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You
are *required* to use the date.timezone setting or the
date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and
you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone
identifier. We selected the timezone 'UTC' for now, but please set
date.timezone to select your timezone. in:

(this is only part of the places it tells me to check and correct), but NOTHING
I do solves the situation.

I've even gone so far as setting the date.timezone in PHP.INI to
America/New_York, but it doesn't help.

Can ANYONE help, please?
