CM> DV> Does anyone know if Sliders is gonna be cancelled in the CM> DV> fall? And does aynone know anything about Space: Above and CM> DV> Beyond? CM> What channels are Sliders and Space: Above and Beyond on and what CM> exactly are they? Sliders is about a way-smart physics student, Quinn Mallory, who builds a device in his basement which creates a bubble of passage. At first he thinks it's a passage to another planet, but it's the same planet, just an alternative universe. After expe riencing travel to and from this other universe, which he calls /sliding/, he brings his college professor and his friend to his basement to show them. Obviously they all end up sliding and this is the premise of the story. It's a bit like Quantum Leap , in the way that they slide to different adventures instead on leaping. It sounds like a good idea for a show, but maybe the stories weren't up to much and this is why it was cancelled. But then Earth 2 was supposed to have been cancelled but apparent ly it's been signed up for another 13 episodes. As for where you can see Sliders, it's coming to satellite TV. It starts on SKY ONE on Tuesday 3rd October. As for Space: Above And Beyond, it's the new sci-fi series created by Glen Morgan and James Wong, both were writers, co-exec. producers, and other things on The X-Files for about a year and a half. I don't know much about this, the series starts next month in the US on Fox. But it is apparently about an academy for starship pilots who get caught up in a war. Probably the best magazine to look for is SFX. It covers sci-fi and will no doubt cover these two series more in future issues. Well, hope this was what you wanted to know. Mark. "Ms Troi, you crashed the Enterprise. I hope you've got insurance." --- * Origin: Planet Earth BBS, Belfast, N. Ireland, +44-1232-392072 (240:700/17) |
