A#@> fortunately for it, the story is strong enough to carry the show by A#@> itself. What do you mean, "hokey" ? Those are the most realistic effects I have ever seen (notice, I am not saying they are COMPLETELY realistic). For example, most other shows make their figters look like x-29s: they glide nicely, make these great banked turns, etc. Bab5 fighters look much more real: they fire a series of short bursts to turn, and they actually have inertia (as opposed to Space: Above... fighters). PPG shots look vicious, if not realistic: you can see that that thing can actually HURT, as opposed to cheesy phaser beams. Most of huge ships/stations in Bab5 ROTATE, they don't have the magic "gravity generators". and so on. I mean, after I saw the Agamemnon, I began comparion all other ships on other shows to her. ...
