For those interested in Starfleet Battles (what it is), I will do my best to give a short description. It is a strategy game where you can control a ship, more than one ship, or even a fleet. Basically, you add how many unused engine boxes you have left (and other power supplying goodies) and put that power into all sorts of different things. Shields, life support, weapons, movement, tractor beams, transporters, ecm/eccm, and the list goes on. There are ships from fighters to carriers to dreadnoughts. Ship seperation is possible on a few. Over 7 races are presented and each is unique in weapons, shields, and other things. There are unlimited possibilities in strategy and combat. Also, there are over 500 different ships available to use (not sure of the exact number, but I have 3 3in binders full of SSd's). This game is the only way to get a feel of how it would be to command a starship in battle. All the other games I have played (video) do not even come close to this game (by the way it's a board game). Someday, I hope IBM brings out SFB to life on the computer. It would be a best seller. If anyone is interested in the game, please E-mail me. I have not played much do to so few friends. Locutus |
