Absolutely right!! I grew up with the original Star Trek, and have followed
The Franchise in all its incarnations. Far too many episodes of STNG, STV
andDS9 are ripoffs of the original.

WHat I'd love to see is someone take one of the old Star Trek books and turn
that into a movie! Can't remember the name, but one from a few years ago
dealt with Earth's first contact with the Vulcans, and was set around the
late 1990's. Most of the books - Especially Dianne Duanes' <sp?> books - are
superior to the newer Star Trek show's scripts.
