How do we know that the Borg the Enterprise-D encountered in the Alpha Quadrant are the only board in the galaxy? Just because Hugh compromised the local Collective, does not mean that the rest of the board have similarly been destroyed. This is a massive machine intelligence, which has most likely spread itself through a sigificant portion of the Star Trek galaxcy. One defeat in one quadrant of said galaxy is not enough to send the death keel to the entire borg superstructure. Infact, it's very possible the OverCollective simply cut off the alpha quadrant portion of its galactic mind like we would sever a rotten limb. What does not make us stronger, kill. THat's the borg mentality. I think we'll see this sometime soon - specifically when the next movie comes out. Elroy / |
