well they had millenia (or hundreds of years take your pick) to conquer the
Delta Quadrant, which was closer than the alpha anyway.  What were they doing
during this time?  Twiddling their thumbs?  Come on the borg can go at
sustained speeds above warp 9.6 for a very long time.
