And > why do all trekies like the x-files??? I agree--there are a lot of sci-fi shows out there. And some of them are pretty mediocre. But one of my friends brought up a good point. . . .you have to realize that for the longest time, there were NO sci-shows on at all. Just reruns of old Star Trek episodes. Most other sci-fi for T.V. was practically non-existent. (Okay, we had the occasional Buck Rodgers episode (the 70's version) but I thought it too awful to mention) Now the TV producers are realizing that there is a sci-fi market, and they're trying to cater it. If we support these shows, they will continue to survive. If not, we'll get stuck with more stupid sitcoms and shoot-em-ups. I'd much rather watch a mediocre episode of Voyager than one of the finest of Melrose Place ANY DAY!! |
