Voyager was oncidered a war ship anyways unlike the enterprise that was a
scientific vessel!

But I agree most people would be skpping everything else just to get home!
I don't think that they are going too I mean the only thing I can think of
possibly is letting them have the chance to go home for a limited amount of
time to say good-bye or whatever.  and then have them go back.  But to me
that would also seem a bit redundant!!!
