Swash | ALL | "New Look" DS-9 |

Well, it looks as if Paramount has been listening to complaints that DS-9 is too dull compared to Voyager, because this season's premire looks like an all-out effort to create as much conflict as possible in the Star Trek world. Klingon vs. Cardassians, Cardassians vs. Bajorians, Cardassians vs. Federation, Klingons vs. Federation, Romulans vs. Klingons and Federation, and The Dominion vs. The entire Alpha Quadrant. The Borg are presumably still lurking around somewhere also (wouldn't you love to see a Borg ship go through the wormhole and take on The Dominion!) Think the Maquis have just disappeared in all this new conflict? The ratings must have been sagging, and I believe that bringing Worf on the show full time supports this idea. The special effects obviously are the reason that the season premire was delayed until this week, they must have taken 6-8 weeks to complete! And on a related note, Sisko's shaved head actually isn't a new look. Give him a metal hand, keep the turtle neck, replace the jumpsuit with a sport jacket, Some dark sunglasses, and Hawke is back! Bring Robert Urich on the show and rename it Star Trek-Spencer For Hire! Swash Chekov, set course for Spacedock. Sulu, get out and push. --- * WR 1.32 [NR] * UNREGISTERED EVALUATION COPY |
