Re: Quantum Physics: The Various Interpretations

I too am interested in quantum theory but more from a philosophical viewpoint
than a scientific one. I have just finished Max Planck's trilogy on his
ideas of science and where science is going to lead us in the next century.
Namely "Where is Science going?", "The Universe in the Light of Modern
Physics", and "The Philosophy of Physics". These works not only explain
Quantum theory from the founders viewpoint they also undertake to explain the
philosophical implications of these ideas. Considering I have no training in
anything even remotely considered scientific, even I could get the gist of
what Doctor Planck was talking about.
However my greater interest is in Doctor Plancks explanation of Logic and
Reason and their place in scientific thought.
It is my understanding that Dr. Planck sees Logic as the framework of all
Science, however he goes on to say that there is no Logical reason to accept
Logic. He and everyone else accepts Logic purely because it is useful to do
so. That is, it gives them a framework, a set of references, to explain
their relationship to the rest of the world. The Scientist accepts Logic
because it has proven fruitful. It works 2 plus 2 does equal four in this
framework, E does equal mc squared. It works in the sense that we gain a
sort of control over the world around us.
This is what I understand so far about Max Plancks theories, and I would like
to know if these are correct conclusions that I am drawing from Dr. Plancks
works.
