That's baloney - you stated in your message that you couldn't take a job at minimum wage with less than full time hours and support a family. How did you support them, then? Welfare? Sponging off of relatives? If you don't work you don't make a dime. Any job is better than no job - at least you have some income - and you can still pursue your job hunt. You decided that you wanted a particular type of job and didn't accept anything until you got it. That's not luck - that's pure persistence. At least you did some creative things to stimulate some job offers and didn't sit around moaning about your "bad" luck. Things didn't start to happen until you got off your behind and "MADE" them happen.
