TT#@> I've a problem I am having a tussle to solve. If I 'COPY' something to TT#@> the COM Port, it only accepts documents (to a Serial Printer) up to TT#@> about 6k in size, then it halts. Tha Cutoff size is not effected by the TT#@> environment I have set, nor does it seem to make a diff if I add a TT#@> print spooler to the mix. It seems to be totally inherent to DOS.. ANY TT#@> ideas? Your guess is correct. It is inherent to DOS! The serial port looks for acknowledge of sent data, when it doesn't get it because the printer buffer is full; it times out, and stops trying. The mode command has a switch to work around the problem. I was thinking it was /P for printer, but I typed MODE /? and got: Configures system devices. Serial port: MODE COMm[:] [BAUD=b] [PARITY=p] [DATA=d] [STOP=s] [RETRY=r] So, I suppose my memory failed me. It is r for retry. ... Keep an open mind and let it all hang out. ___ Blue Wave/QWK v2.12 |
