It cannot be extended beyond the COMMAND.COM limit of 128, or the 4DOS.COM
limit of 511.  What %path% does is allow you a quick and dirty way of adding
things to your path without having to type the whole thing over again.  If
you attempt to go over the limit, you'll still get an error message.
