 Actually it can be extended using the %path%, altho' I don't fully
 remember the proper syntax involved, so someone else can run with
 this (it should be in almost any DOS book or doc). It is similiar to
 something like:

 set c:=%path%;c:\the other stuff ... ...
 path c:\;c:\dos;c:\windows... ... ... ;%path%

 But I agree, if the path is pushing 128 bytes, it's time for some
 housecleaning.
