Yup, 4Dos [an obsolete version of which is licensed to Norton as NDos]
has it's own distinguished history, quite distinct from DrDos, which was
descended from old CP/M via CP/M-86.  [History note: CP/M was the FIRST
multiplatform microcomputer OS, ancestor of DOS via strange paths, and
the primary reason all of us are doing this stuff here].  But didn't
Novell buy DRI [Digital Research Inc] and integrate the Concurrent DOS &
CCPM stuff as Novell Netware?  I'm kinda foggy on these recent events...

And to prove that I'm totally diseased, I'm thinking of installing an
old CCP/M 3.0b onto an old XT/286 system, with 4Dos 5.5 as the shell, to
see how that combo compares to DV & 4Dos.  I've been trying VMiX there
too, but it's quite hostile to 4Dos.  Maybe it'll go with DrDos 6.0?

I also just got the latest FreeDos 4Ap [which is strangely intertwined
with Linux] as another attempt to escape from the clutches of B.Gates.
[Latest news: Gates may fund Ted Turner in Turner's attempt to buy CBS.
I wonder which wolverine would survive THAT partnership...]
