I thought about that after I had posted it! Mail packets are compressed
anyway for transmission to other nodes participating in an echo, so the
saving in size is more cosmetic than real.

BatPower is runing about three dozen messages a day. To bad you have
lost your link.

Messages in this echo arrive in squirts of about twice a week. A
fugal sysop in the chain is must be trying to hold his phone bills
down by only polling a couple of times a week.
